Grupo FAF is a family group that has been in the market for 60 years.
Francisco António Fernandes started this business in 1947, working as an independent entrepreneur, with the trademark F.A. Fernandes, and has been in the market since then, having created Francisco António Fernandes, Lda., in 1962, FAF – Francisco António Fernandes, S.A. in 1987, and FAF – Produtos Siderúrgicos, S.A. in 1997, the trade name that is still used today.
Grupo FAF has been under family control since the day one and, still counting with its founding partner, currently three generations of the Fernandes family work together in this Group.
Presently, Grupo FAF comprises FAF – Produtos Siderúrgicos, S.A. and ALCIR, Empreendimentos Imobiliários, S.A..
In the real estate area, through ALCIR, Empreendimentos Imobiliários, S.A., its main asset is Torre de Monsanto (www.torredemonsanto.com), one of the largest and most symbolic office buildings in Portugal. It is located in Miraflores, in the confluence point joining the Cascais-Lisbon Highway and the CRIL Motorway.
For the past 60 years, Grupo FAF was involved in different markets, besides steel and real estate, notably, but not limited to, through stakeholdings in electric cables, telecommunications, energy and banking sectors.
